And now the father came from the forest. He had wandered far, across two rivers, he came from the Supteng river, from the Kasam swamp, from Kazymys. The father came to look for the elder son. The poor mother was there. The tiger wanted to eat her and the wolf wanted to eat her. The father came home. Halfway there, when he crossed the river, another squirrel was sitting. The other squirrel was sitting and was crying, crying like this: “My home,” he said, “was carried away by the crow or was carried away by the owl. Now I have no home.” Then the husband of the squirrel coming from there, coming from the Kasam River said: “How can you not have one? You have to live, I had a wife and she had to bear a lot of children earlier. Maybe the wolf ate them, too, maybe the owl ate them.” This owl that disturbs people is still alive now and it is a bad bird. “Probably it ate them.”
